For so many reasons, VOICE is my word for 2015.
It's about being true to myself.
It's about using my voice to share my story.
It's about using the right words to help my boys develop strong inner voices of their own.
It's about listening to that small, still voice.
It's about expressing my true self.
It's about doing my own thing.
It's about writing.
It's about creating.
It's about living my story (not yours).
It's about saying what I have to say.
None of these things is particularly lacking in my current life, but I want to open myself up to these ideas and be more deliberate in my decision making and self expression as I move forward.
After two years of very action-oriented words, I am ready for this word this word that asks me to work truer not harder.
I love that this word is multidimensional. It is both a noun and a verb. I feel like it has a lot of depth and a lot of room for interpretation. With so many concrete goals on my plate, this project feels like a space to consider my life in a more open context. My word gives me a general direction to head without feeling like another item to add to my "to do" lists.
There is no way to predict what VOICE will mean to me at the end of this year, but I hope that it will give me courage to make bolder moves and be truer to myself.
